Key factors of datalinks for UAV :
Wireless mesh datalink Keywords:
1、Centerless
2、Self-organized
3、Self-healing
What is the difference between a point-to-point datalink and mesh datalink?
Point to Point network:
Good:
1, Easy configuration(only 2 nodes are allowed
2, Latency relatively lower
3, Less power consumption
4, Relatively lower cost
Poor:
1, Line of sight only
2, Swarming: not support
3, Range extension: repeater needed
4, Single drone operation only
What a mesh network can do?
Compare with point-to-point datalink, ourmesh datalink modules are equally good , even better in RX sensitivity and datathroughput.
In addition, with a mesh networking algorithm , we can provide extra benefits againstpoint-to-point datalink. multiple drones, vehicles, persons, and other nodescan all be part of the same network. All nodes can exchange information throughthis network, enabling tasks that a traditional PTP (point-to-point) network
cannot accomplish.
Range :Extends operational range by using mesh nodes as repeaters
None-line of sight capability:
Data can hop through intermediate nodes, enabling operation in challenging terrains.
Scalability:
With the integration of mesh nodes, we can easily integrates additional drones or devices into the network, build up a man-unmanned network

Distance:
Higher sensitivity makes longer distance:
With the ultilazation of Cofdm wavefrom and ideal hardware design, RX sensitivity of our datalink achieves -103dBm @ RF bandwidth=5MHz. We estimate the communication distance vs TX power as below
TX power | Distance(LOS) |
500mw*2 channels | 15km |
1w*2 channels | 30km |
2w*2 channels | 50km |
20w**2 channels | 200km |
Data range:
Generally data rate of mesh datalinks vary base on the real time signal-noise-ratio, fix-data-rate mode is supported
Datarate vs SNR vs RF bandwidth
Remark:Above data rate is a theoretical calculation, the actual results vary according to the real condition.
Latency:
Low latency= right datalink + good camera + good codec
